Just a Quickie

September 20, 2009

Just a quick update tonight because I want to get back to The Lost Symbol, which I hope to review on the blog this week.

Also, I have not slept well this week because of my new iPhone (review for that also coming this week). The connection? Because I use the iPhone as an alarm by my bedside table, whenever I wake up for any reason during the night, it occurs to me that I should check any information/mail/etc coming into my iPhone. The dumb, sleepy version of me thinks, “It’s here–why not check?”

This means that at 4:00 am last night, I woke up to go to the bathroom and found it necessary to use the fancy touch screen to check:

  • e-mail
  • Twitter
  • Google Reader (via Newsstand app)
  • sports scores (lots of updates at 4:00 am)
  • movie updates
  • YouTube videos about Kanye West and Taylor Durden or whatever her name is

I’m sure you can see that this is going to be a problem. I’m so sleepy right now (it’s not even 10:30) that I don’t think it’ll be an issue tonight, but we’ll see. If you get an e-mail from me at 3:00 am, mock me endlessly. I respond well to shame.

Kanye West was in Fight Club? I must have gotten up to go to the restroom during that scene 🙂

Do you have a clock that shows you the time that isn’t your iPhone? I usually put my phone in my purse, or on my bureau across the room so that I don’t check it.

Unfortunately, no, not in my current living situation. I live in a cave.
